Y. E. Yang is a professional golfer hailing from Korea. He has one victory in 61 career PGA events. He is in the news this week because he goes into the final day of the PGA Championship tied for second with defending champion Padraig Harrington at 6 under par. Because he completed his round before Harrington, Yang will be paired with leader Tiger Woods for the final round.
My Take: Good for him. Although some think that the pairing is a disappointment from a media standpoint (at least Tiger made the cut this time), it's still fun to watch the underdog go up against the Grand Master. BTW: Yang defeated Woods at the HSBC Champions in 2006 in China. Can he pull off another stunning upset (and if it's not stunning, is it really an upset)?
