Greg Paulus was named the starting quarterback for Syracuse. In the past Syracuse has produced such offensive stars as Jim Brown and Art Monk, but last year the Orange fell to 114th in offense in the nation. This year rookie head coach Doug Marrone is placing his trust in Paulus to restore the Orange to greatness...or at least get them in the headlines because Paulus, now a graduate student at Syracuse, has spent the last four years playing point guard for Duke University.

Paulus played quarterback in high school, but not since, and has had only one week of collegiate practice before being named the starter.

My Take: Interesting story. Word is he's also tried out for a few pro clubs, so this is likely just a way to hone his skills in hopes of getting drafted into the NFL. We'll see what happens.
